Fees & payouts

One fee when a part sells. Nothing to list, nothing monthly, and payment processing is included.

The final value fee

When an order is paid, the marketplace keeps 15% of the item price plus the shipping the buyer paid, with a minimum of $1.00 per order. The rest is the seller's payout. Card and PayPal processing costs are covered by the fee — there is no separate processing charge.

ExampleItem + shippingFeePayout
Airbag, $200.00 + $15.00 shipping$215.00$32.25$182.75
Sensor, $45.00, free shipping$45.00$6.75$38.25

No listing fees

Listing is free, relisting an ended part is free, and there is no subscription. The fee is charged only when a part sells and the buyer has paid.

When payouts are released

A payout is scheduled when the order is delivered — confirmed by the carrier scan, the buyer, or automatically 21 days after shipping — for 48 hours after that confirmation. It is transferred when all of these are true:

  • the 48 hours have passed;
  • no case is open on the order;
  • the seller's sales invoice to the buyer, showing the donor VIN, has been uploaded to the order (required for parts);
  • the seller's Stripe Connect account is set up and able to receive payouts.

The Seller Hub shows every scheduled payout and exactly which of these it is waiting on. Transfers go to the seller's Stripe Connect Express account and from there to their bank on Stripe's schedule — typically 1–2 business days.

Holds

An open case pauses the payout until the case is decided. Staff may also place a hold on a payout or a seller while they review an account; the reason is shown in the Seller Hub.

Refunds after a payout

If a buyer is refunded after the seller has been paid, the marketplace refunds the buyer immediately and recovers the seller's share of the refund from the seller's next payouts. The marketplace returns its proportional fee share on the refunded amount; sales tax on the refunded amount is reversed by the marketplace.

Sales tax

e-airbags.com collects and remits sales tax under marketplace-facilitator laws where they apply. Tax is calculated at checkout on the buyer's shipping address, paid by the buyer, and is never part of the fee base or the seller's payout. Sellers do not need to collect sales tax on marketplace orders, but remain responsible for their own income tax and for any state licensing that applies to their business.

Tax forms

Payouts are made through Stripe Connect. Stripe issues the applicable tax forms (such as Form 1099-K) to sellers who meet the IRS thresholds, based on the information collected during Stripe onboarding.

Fees and timings are set by the marketplace and may change with notice; the current values are always the ones on this page and in the Seller Agreement.
